Most fun i've had in AB in ages.
Right then, we all know about golemway the HA build etc etc. So the other day me and a few guildies were bored and decided to make a condensed version of it for AB, for the lulz.
To our surprise it was actually really fun, and surprisingly effective at the whole capping bit too. So i thought i'd recommend its use for your enjoyment.
This is the build we used, it's not set in stone at all it's just something we played around with and had a good laugh doing.

Remember, superior runes are pro in AB. Without them you'll struggle to kill much.
Now go forth and spike those whom largely don't even know what a spike is.

PS forgot to explain to those that may not know, the BiP kills itself repeatedly at the start of the match (doesnt give points to opposing team anymore) so you have 3 golems at the beginning.

Congratulations you named 2 counters to a spike. Your cookie's in the mail.
(Sadly) though i don't see those skills being run in AB a whole lot, but i don't ab much so who knows.
It's not a serious build, just fun to run and somewhat effective.

Who brings Spirit Bond in AB? Its not organized PvP, more like 12v12 chaos.

I think it goes without saying that I'll be bringing the milk.
I'm a HUGE for of Chaos btw, be it 4v4 or 12v12.
Im sure the build is fun and all, healing skills like crazy, plus If 1 4 man team is organized it's a HUGE advantage, unless the other team has couple of organized/vent teams rolling.

The point of this post is about fun in AB.
I'd try any build in AB because it is chaos and you never know what will happen.
Although I disagree about sup runes being need to do dmg. Perhaps you were referring specifically to the posted builds. I use a Mes in AB almost exclusively.
I found this one spike that is all but universal. I've tried it on a number of professions. It is effective on all and devastating on some. Unfortunately, it is not much good for self defense so you had better hope you kill with it because "they" WILL come for you once you cast it on them.
And no I'm not going to share the spike. (double)

I tend to enter AB with my guildmates in a tight 4-unit. We went in Monk, Tank, Ell and Mes the other day and stayed together. We did quite well until we got mobbed (hate the mobbing tactic).
So yah, going back to the above build, I'm going to share it with some of my guildmates.

Lol yeah, i was referring specifically to this build (runewise) because it's quite a weak spike with 592 damage. But your golems do a fair bit of damage so you pick slightly lower targets and normally kill.

If you think that's fun, run 4 rangers and Rspike people for lulz.
The best part is when people catch on to what you're doing, and they run away from you.
But I expect that golemway would be pretty epic too tbh.

Look, I don't want to turn this thread into a cagematch but I think you're bad.
Why do Monks in AB suck? They keep people alive, bringing a nuker would quickly kill shrines, take a hammer Warrior and a Cripshot Ranger and you're good to go. You have a multi-situational team build able to tackle any bad player. Your post seriously makes me /Facepalm.

My brother and I can do a 2-man rangespike, we can actually spike people dead pretty well with just the 2 of us.
It would be nice if we could get another r-spiker, so that we can make sure what we spike gets spiked properly, but there's only 2 of us so we have to make do.
The sad thing is that usually, no one catches on to what we're doing and continue attacking us anyway.

The best part is that when you spike one of those E/D solo cappers, you end up savage-shotting something and per person the spike is like 170.

We did 3 man rspike + monk, its kinda fun, but NOTHING
again, NOTHING beats 2/3 contagion necro builds. When we tried it I simply couldnt stop laughing for 30 mins.
core skills: [contagion][dark aura][masochism][foul feast]
additional fun: [chilblains][wearying strike][signet of agony][mystic regeneration][edge of extinction]
etc etc
If you go with 3 contagion, my advise is to take mystic regen or something. Stand up in a triangle, get the conditions, and foul feast in the right order: 1-2-3 and cycle. The monk should be fullheal HB as its the best to counter the extreme huge life loss.

Heh, this makes me laugh. When I'm forced to find a pug monk and they are without Prot Spirit/Spirit Bond it means quick boot.
As for those who don't believe monks are useful in AB, well try finding a competent AB group without one.

I like teams with loldamage and shutdown that either roll over stuff or can run away really fast. One of the things I like about AB is that you aren't automatically screwed without a monk. When you're really mobile people can't catch you anyway. Monk are Ok though, some team builds need them harder then others.

Well, usually the strategy that friends and I use may differ from yours. We cap of course, but can't deny that we'll take out the other capping groups often or slow down a mini mob - which of course requires a monk for us (don't start with the "zomg but not only monks heal" if some of you are thinking that).
